I don't know how I came to have a reputation for being so nice, cheerful and sweet, especially in the workplace and among colleagues. Generally true, I believe, in the recent years. But friends from further back would have known and seen the monster in me, which had been consciously suppressed after I realized how nasty I was to make shopgirls cry, among others.

Unfortunately, the monster has been feeling its way out these days and I'm not sure I'm sorry about that.
